From April 30 to June 14, in the lobby of the first floor at the Embassy of Latgale GORS, on the display will be the painting exhibition “Touch to the Emotions” by the artist Jeļena Antonova. Art Historian Aleksis Osmanis tells: “Meeting with the paintings of Jeļena Antonova is always a celebration.”
Jeļena Antonova was born in Rezekne, on November 10, 1971, in the family of artists. In 1986, she graduated from Rezekne Children Art School, but in 1989 – from Rezekne Secondary School No.2. In 1995, Jeļena Antonova graduated from Latgale Branch of the Latvian Academy of Arts, with a Bachelor`s Degree in Arts (with the major in Pedagogy of Arts), and has received her Master`s degree in 1998 – graduating from Latgale Branch of the Latvian Academy of Arts (with the major of Science of Arts). Currently working as a teacher of the visual arts and leading a private arts studio. The artist has organized her personal exhibitions in Rezekne, Ludza and Riga since 1995, however, in the Embassy of Latgale GORS her paintings of will be displayed for the first time.
