The multimedial exhibit “Money Design. PIN Code.” created in collaboration between Latvian Bank and the Embassy of Latgale GORS is now closed. The exhibit was seen by 26 400 attendants during its display time from November 18, 2014 to February 15, 2015.
During the multimedial exhibit everyone had an opportunity to get to know all the lats banknotes and coins, as well as Latvian euro money design that was made during 20 years. More than 40 banknotes and coins made by the most outstanding Latvian artists tell the story about the relationship between money and a person in the space and time. Digital slide shows took everyone to the workrooms of painters, authors of illustrations, book illustrators, sculptors and many other representatives of other fields of art.
The third place for expositions display was the Embassy of Latgale GORS. Before this, the multimedial money design exhibit was displayed in Rīga and Ventspils. All three displays have gathered around 55 thousand attendants.
The easy and public availability of the exhibit in Rezekne was one of the most important reasons for the great attendance – it was available for the event or movie theater attendants, seminar participants, excursion groups, café visitors and other interested parties. In collaboration with the Educations and Design Department of Rezekne Higher Education Institution, excursions were provided for any interested person or a group. 22 excursion groups (approximately 500 attendants) have used this opportunity.
Two special events were held during the exhibit display – creative meetings with artists. On January 21, 2015, the meeting with an artist Henrihs Vorkals was organized as well as the meeting with the creators of the exhibit Ramona Umblija and Holgers Elers on February 11, 2015. They expressed their experience and ideas about the content and form of modern exhibits. More than 120 persons, the most of whom the students of Rezekne Arts and Design School, attended every of the events.
The Head of the Embassy of Latgale GORS Diāna Zirniņa expresses that the exhibit “Money Design. PIN Code.” was a challenge for the Embassy of Latgale GORS as the place for displays. This was one of the most complicated exhibit project so far, but we are happy for the interest from different generation attendants as well as the exhibit involvement in the education process.
The exhibit was created by design office “H2E”, the audiovisual technologies made by “SOLAVI” Ltd, multimedia created by Juris Podnieks film studio, the author of the portraits - Santa Savisko–Jēkabsone. The Embassy of Latgale GORS is delighted for the future collaboration with the design office “H2E” in a display of the exposition of Latvian contemporary design “Situācija” within the event cycle “Design Manifestation” in October.
