Film and music – the leading elements of the August. The summer will be continued with the film screenings on the roof terrace, a place will take the third International Film Festival “Open Place”, as well as the events representing the classic heritage of music at the beginning of the month, and grandeur of the film music – at it’s end.

The fourth year in the row, a place will take the project ‘’Miss and Mister Rezekne’’. During the closing ceremony of the event, jury will crown the most beautiful couple of the city. The host of the competition – Māris Grigalis. The audience will be entertained with performances of the well-known Latvian musicians, dancers, and cirque artists, as well as more than five presentations of the contestants.

From August 12 to 16, for the third time in Rezekne, a place will take the International Film Festival OPEN PLACE. The first part of the opening concert will present the movie style concert performance by the Latgalian ethno rock music band „Laimas Muzykanti”. However, the second part of the event will introduce to the jury, film program and the film producers, as well as offer the musical and artistic performances of the film actors.

From August 1 to 31, in the lobby of the first floor of the Embassy of Latgale GORS, will be displayed an art photo exhibition “Television. We are One of You”. The photography taken by Valts Kleins capture 14 outstanding personalities of Latvian Television (LTV), who are symbolizing different times, still, united values of the public media, as well as it’s inseparable connection with the nation and the country.
