Liepaja Theatre and the Embassy of Latgale GORS deplore for the circumstances, apologize to the audience for the cancellation of the theatre performance “PIAF” on 8th and 9th of October, due to the health condition of the leading actress. This performance will be replaced with the staging “Blow Ye Wind” (“Pūt, vējiņi”) – the musical described by theatre critic Silvija Radzobe as the first real national musical settled in the contemporary stage expression that encourages the elation and inspiration.
The purchased tickets for the theatre performance “Piaf” are valid for the attendance of the musical “Blow Ye Wind” – on the exact date and maintaining the same seat. The tickets also can be returned to the box offices, receiving back the money spent on the purchase:

Theater promises to bring to the guest performance “Piaf” to the next event season of GORS.
Musical by Kārlis Lācis, Jānis Elsbergs and Evita Mamaja produced after Rainis play and the motives of Latvian folk song “Blow Ye Wind!” (Director Dž. Dž. Džilindžers) has received the award of “100g kultūras” (100 g of Culture) – “Kilograms kultūras 2011″ (One Kilogram of Culture 2011) in theatre nomination. The performance has been nominated for “Spēlmaņa nakts” season of 2011/2012 in 5 nominations: “Musical Theatre Performance of the Year” (award), “New Stage Performer of the Year” (E. Pjata and A. Jēkabsone), “Stage Designer of the Year” (M. Vilkārsis), “Movement Director of the Year” (I. Krasovska) (award), and “Costume Designer of the Year” (I. Vītoliņa). The performance has received the remembrance award of Egons Līvs “Krasta ļaudis” in the nomination “Best Implemented Literary Idea”.
